I always find myself getting particularly excited about all the kids movies coming out at this time of year because it means something easy and enjoyable for me to do with Kennedy during these long Summer days!I’m really excited about this one, coming out on August 5, 2015, because it looks like it has a lot of little jokes in it that I’ll really find funny too, and that’s a big bonus!.If you do decide to take the kids to the movies during the Summer, it’s great to keep the fun and excitement going afterwards by having a craft, or a game, or a special themed snack to enjoy after getting home from the movies, or even the next day.

(Milk and cookies pun intended :)).

This little idea that Kennedy and I are sharing with you today is really half cookie and half craft, so we’re calling it a “cookie craft”!.It would probably be easier, actually.

It got the job done though!I used Minwax early american stain on the top.

It turned out a little darker than usual because there was still some reddish color on the wood, but I like the end result. The bottom part is done in a regular semi-gloss paint in Martha Stewart Picket Fence.
